My name’s Julie, and I make soap.

My soapmaking journey is rooted in a love of activities that exist at the intersection of art and science, as well as a desire to learn a skill that produces something both useful and beautiful.

As I’ve explored soapmaking, I’ve found a particular joy in creating soaps and other bath products that are inspired by my favorite coffees and teas.

Taking time to savor your first cup of coffee in the morning or pouring someone a glass of tea when they come to visit or treating yourself to a lemonade to brighten up an afternoon – these are tangible acts of love, practical ways to take care, conduits for connection. This is what I hope to share with you through my soaps and other bath products.

I appreciate you checking out 955 Soapery. Taking a pile of ingredients and turning it into something useful brings me a lot of joy, and I’m excited to share that with you!

All the best,

Julie

Why “955 Soapery”?

I grew up in Hutto in what used to be the middle of nowhere (or at least felt like the middle of nowhere to my childhood self). 955 was our house number. Time and progress have changed my hometown beyond recognition in many ways. While the home I grew up in is no longer there, 955 Soapery is a way to keep the memory of my childhood home alive in my heart and mind.
